Q: How many reps should I do per set in order to gain strength?

A: To develop strength, follow a structured program that begins with high reps (between 10 and 12) and light weight. Over an eight-week period, gradually reduce the reps and increase the weight. During the finals weeks, perform sets of 4 to 8 reps at approximately 80 to 90 percent of your one rep max.
