Javair Gillett


Javair Gillett, a graduate from DePauw University with a degree in exercise science, is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a strength and conditioning specialist. He has spent more than nine years within the Detroit Tigers organization and is currently designing and implementing conditioning programs.

Gillett’s other experiences include strength and conditioning internships with the Orlando Magic during the 2002-03 NBA season, Indiana University and The Pennsylvania State University. He also lettered four seasons with DePauw University’s baseball team and was given All-Conference honors two of those four years as well as All-American Honorable Mention his final season.

With more 10 years of experience working with youth and amateur athletes, he created and produced B.A.S.E.S.: Evolution of an Athlete in Baseball and Softball, a training DVD. He launched www.basesathlete.com and the DVD together to serve as a more practical educational tool for athletes, coaches, parents and peers aspiring to achieve healthy athletic development. B.A.S.E.S. was designed to bring awareness to reduce preventable problems, education to improve performance, and drive to lead to a long productive existence.
